Sweet Lou to retire in 2015 to stand stud

One of the fastest and most talented standardbreds to hit the racetrack in many years, Sweet Lou will retire at the end of this year and then head to stud at Adam Bowden’s Diamond Creek Farm in Pennsylvania.

Trained throughout his career by Ron Burke the 5-year-old son of Yankee Cruiser enters Sunday’s $160,500 Allerage Farms Pace at the Red Mile with 32 wins from 70 starts, earnings of $3,067,994 and a mark of 1:47F. Burke has said repeatedly that Sweet Lou is among his all-time favorite horses.
